New Baby :-)

Surprise!! I'm pregnant! Yay!! I'm 13 weeks along, due March 20, 2011. Morgan and I found out a couple weeks before the Bar Exam back in July. Its been a long first trimester and I'm still waiting for the nausea to end. Honestly the exhaustion and nausea is a BIG reason I've been so lazy on blogging lately. Its also a big reason why Morgan and I haven't done a whole lot after the Bar Exam ended.

We had a slight medical scare in the beginning but it turned out to be nothing. But the good news is we got a couple extra super early ultrasounds out of it. Which were really cool to see and amazing to have.

Baby at 4 weeks and 5 days. The baby actually way to tiny to see (about the size of a poppy seed at this point), but this is his/her home.
Baby at 5 weeks 2 days. The big white circle was the baby's food supply until the placenta formed. The baby is the tiny white blob at the bottom. He/She was about the size of an apple seed at this point.
Thankfully since the scare, everything with the pregnancy has been perfectly normal! We had our first "regular ultrasound" when I was 9 weeks and 2 days. However, the baby was measuring a little bit bigger than that at 10 weeks and 1 day. This ultrasound has been one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced in my life. We saw the baby's heart beating away at 167 beats per min. We also saw him/her moving around. And when I say moving around I truly mean partying away in there. It was flipping and flailing. His/Her hands and feet were moving all over the place. It was awesome to see, but super weird knowing that there is so much movement inside my own body that I cannot feel. The baby was so active the ultrasound technician was even surprised.  We did manage to get a couple of pictures but because the baby was so active they are pretty blurry.

Now the baby is looking more baby like. The roundish blob on the left is the baby's head with a hand sticking up, and the feet are at the other end.

This is much less baby-like but only because he/she was moving like crazy.
Now we wont get to see the baby until the 20 week ultrasound which we will have to make sure everything is where it should be. We should also find out if its a boy or a girl at that time. But if we are taking early bets, my money is on it being a boy. I just have had a feeling about it since I found out. But I have no scientific reason to back that up.

We did got to hear the baby's heartbeat at our last Doctor's appointment, on Friday. That was pretty amazing too. The baby's heart was beating in the 160's still. The doctor also mentioned how active the baby was cause we could hear its hands and feet moving around. She also had a hard time keeping the doppler on top of the baby since he/she was moving around so much! It was another great experience and I can't wait to hear it again in a month.

Well, I'll keep you posted on my expanding belly and all the baby news I can. Yay!
