Wow, talk about time going quickly! Henry is now two months old! I can't believe it. I no longer have a tiny newborn...so so sad. Today, at the doctor's he weighed 12 pounds 6.2 ounces and was 23.25 inches long. He is starting to outgrow 0-3 month size clothes and is now in size 2 diapers. I just wish I could slow down time some. You get so wrapped up in the day to day care of a baby that I think its hard to step back and just enjoy the moment. I try to just soak up everything I can about Henry, but boy is it hard when dishes need cleaning, laundry needs folding, and you have a crying baby to deal with.

Sleeping with his friend Zubels. |

We are both learning to love the Moby wrap. Henry's not a huge fan, but this day he feel asleep after crying all day. I was exhausted but soo happy! |
Speaking of crying babies...I have a confession. Its not a super big deal, or life changing or anything. But its something I have a hard time finally admitting to even myself. OK, enough build up. Henry has colic. Bam! There, I said it. Whew.
Over the last month, its become clearer to Morgan and I that Henry is not always the happiest of babies. Yes, he struggles with his pooping problems, but its more than that. We thought he just had some fussy times but by 6 weeks old it was clear colic was also playing a role. This makes for some pretty frustrating days sometimes for me, when there is literally nothing that will make Henry happy. He becomes fussy, cries, refuses to be put down, and nothing helps. But then out of nowhere it all stops and once again hes happy as can be. But then he flips again. He's like Dr. Jekyell and Mr. Hyde. Fine one minute, nuclear meltdown the next. So, this is just another thing we are waiting for him to outgrow by the magical three month mark.

Henry got a new cousin this month! Elliot Matthew! |

Elliot made Hen look so big! |
When Henry is happy he is happy! Its amazing to see everything he can do now! He socially smiles, coos, mimics sounds. He wants to stare at everything and everybody. He loves the "baby in the mirror" and being outside. When on this belly, he can lift his head and turn it side to side. He will also start to scoot across his blanket or play mat. Hen no longer wants to be held like a baby, but insists that we hold him outwards so he can see the world, or let him sit on our laps, or help him stand up. Hen enjoys watching TV and is starting to notice the dogs more. His favorite things to do are watch his mobile in his crib, sit in his bouncy chair, listen to pop music (seriously he loves it), and of course
Zubels.

He loves his changing table area! I get the biggest smiles there. |
Hen also has dislikes. And it always amazes me that even at such a young age he lets us know what they are. One, Henry hates the swing. We've tried him in a couple different ones, and he will not have it. Two, there's pooping, but we all know about that one. Three, getting dressed or undressed. For some reason, Henry doesn't mind being dressed or being naked. Its the in-between he hates. He screams and screams. Morgan and I have no idea why, but we have gotten pretty good at dressing him quickly! Finally, the car seat. Hen hates his car seat. He screams going into his seat, being taken out of his seat, when sitting in his seat. He is just not a fan. Thankfully as soon as the car moves he falls right asleep.

Henry got his first shots today - welcome to 2 months. Poor guy. |
Well Henry got his two month shots today! Poor guy, he screamed so loud. But the nurse was so fast, all of them were done in 15 seconds. Thankfully, he calmed down pretty quickly. But hes very crabby and uncomfortable today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, but today I'll be on the couch cuddling with my 2 month old baby.
