Garden Update

We didn't kill it! Or, I should say we didn't kill most of it. For the third year in a row, I managed to kill all the cilantro that I planted...damn you cilantro and my unending love of you.

Poor cilantro.

The basil is not doing much better. But is still technically alive.

We have harvested two weeks worth of romaine lettuce and more raspberries than we know what to do with. Seriously, we have a ton. You are welcome to come over and take as many as you can before you are throughly creeped out by the large Japanese beetles who have taken up residence on them.

I'm tossing around the idea of making raspberry jam with them. But I'm not sure I have the time or energy to actually make jam (or the time and the energy to acquire jam making skills), especially since I bought a jar of jam for $1.78 today. But I have a feeling that making jam isn't about the money, but about the "experience" or some B.S. like that. Whatever. The point is I have the raspberries to do it.

Tonight's haul.

We are still waiting on broccoli, cabbage, tomatoes, green peppers, and onions. I would guess we have about a 50/50 shot at this point of actually seeing any peppers or cabbage. But the tomatoes and broccoli look very promising, which is great since we actually buy and eat a lot of these. As for the onions, who the hell knows. If anyone can tell me how to know if there is actually an onion and when its ready to be picked that would be great. From the outside they look good, but not sure if there is actually anything to eat.

Something is eating the cabbage, despite our bug spray. Ugh.
