Tot School Color Yellow!

Henry is 13 Months Old.

This week's color was yellow. Henry kept just calling everything yellow "banana" at first. It was pretty cute, but by the end of the week I think he finally started to understand the difference.
The activity wall this week was the same as the red week. We worked on identifying eyes with the baby pictures. By the end of the week, he was able to point to the eyes most of the time. On the felt board, there was a banana shape, and some other yellow shapes.

The tot trays this week were a bit hit. The first was the yellow sensory bin. It included little yellow stretchy frogs and lizards (Target dollar spot), balls, stacking cups, pipe cleaners, yellow foam shapes, blocks, and a couple of cars. The second tray was a picture of a banana and a picture of Big Bird for Henry to color. The banana was dry erase which Henry really enjoyed.

The third tray was a Velcro block inspired by the one made at one of my favorite blogs, Memorizing the Moments. The block itself is just a block of wood from a craft store. Then I painted little wooden stars. Then Velcro circles on the block and on the stars. Henry could then pull and place the stars from the block.
Henry really like the block some days and others he would get really frustrated. I think it just depended on the amount of patience he had that day.
The book bin was a super big hit this week. Almost all of the books were popular with Henry. So of course I didn't get many pictures, since we were so busy reading. His favorite was a small board book called Red, Blue, Yellow Shoe, by Tana Hoban.

I love all these ideas! I really need to do some color weeks for my 14 month old. I have such a hard time for some reason coming up with activities on her level but you are doing a fantastic job! Glad I found you on Tot School!

Thanks! The age group is really hard I think. They are so eager to learn but still sort of all over the place.
