Remember when this blog included our adventures with tot school, Montessori activities and other ways Henry and I stay busy? I'll be honest, tot school did move a little bit to the back burner during my first trimester. There were just sometimes I didn't have the energy to prepare a bunch of extra activities for Henry.
However, tot school has continued -- with the exception of one week, tot school co-op continued every week for the last couple months. While I haven't blogged about our letter of the week theme since the letter U, we actually finished the entire alphabet before we started our Christmas break.
I will try to eventually share some of the trays we did for letters V, W, X, Y, and Z. But, I'm not promising that I'll be able to recreate everything we did.
So, this leaves the question, where are we going from here?
Well, my plan is to cycle back around to the letter A. Instead of focusing on letter identification, as I did in 2013, the goal for this year is to focus on sounds and the fine motor skills necessary to write letters. I also want to start working on some basic sight words.
Because Henry is still only 2-years-old, some familiar elements of tot school will continue for the time being. This includes the letter-themed sensory bins and some of the same we used when we first did the alphabet.
I can't believe it's been almost two years now since we started our tot school journey, and I just can't imagine leaving it behind. It's a great source of joy for both Henry and I and I hope, now that I feel better I can continue to share that journey with you guys!
