I feel like I say this every time I write about children's books, but I love children's books. Like LOVE them. So, finding a few new titles to add to our collection is always fun for me and for my kids. Recently, I added a few new books to our home.
With welcoming a new baby, I knew that I would be spending a lot of time nursing and therefore a lot of time reading to my kids. Having a few new Montessori friendly books keeps us all a little more engaged in the process. So, here's what we recently added:

Toddler
Little Humans - This is such a great book! The children represented are diverse, and the photography is beautiful. The text is simple but engaging.Every Autumn Comes the Bear - Really simple look at a bear in autumn. The illustrations are beautiful, and this instantly has become a Gus favorite.
Autumn - This is a wordless picture book. The illustrations are gorgeous. My kids love these and were happy to add another season to our collection.
Children's House (3-6yo)
Fall Leaves - This book is stunning! It has simpler text that could be read only to a toddler, but also a selection of denser scientifically accurate text for older kids.Everything You Need for a Treehouse - Really super cute. A tiny bit of fantasy in parts (just in the illustrations), but very lyrical text and beautiful images. All of the kids have loved this!
The Apple Cake - This is another one that all my kids have loved. It's a longer story, which is nice for a picture book, and has a really lovely message.
Elementary
Woody, Hazel, and Little Pip - Another longer story that both Nora and Henry really like. This one is fantasy based (with some slightly darker images) so I would recommend it for a 5-year-old+ who is ready for that level of abstraction.Earth: By The Numbers - A nice little book to accompany the Montessori Great Lessons that gives nice information about the earth in a visually pleasing way. Book could also work for older preschool if your child is into geography/numbers.
Have you added any new Montessori friendly books to your collection lately? I'd love to hear about them!
