The holiday season is here again! I can't believe how fast time moves when you have five kids from babies to upper elementary! There's always something going on, something to do. In order to enjoy the holiday season, I'm trying my best to get all my shopping done as early as possible. I typically can fall into the ordering until the very last second category, but this year I'm almost done!
I just have to find a few stocking stuffers and I can get on to wrapping! So, I thought I would share a few Montessori friendly stocking stuffer ideas for various ages, in case you're shopping for some too! If you're looking for some practical stocking stuffer ideas, don't miss this old post.
Fun Montessori Friendly Stocking Stuffer Ideas
Just as a reminder, all ages are approximate. Some are listed in one section, but are absolutely appropriate for others. Follow your child and their interests instead of a specific list. I'm also going to include a link but know that some of this stuff can be found at dollar stores or sections, for less than I can link, so look local too!
Babies
We don't typically do a ton for babies in stockings. But it can be fun to include them in this tradition with a couple of things!
- Toothbrush
- Teether Toys - Como Tomo | Green Sprouts | Ark*
- Mini Board Book Set
- Mini Playsilks
*In Penelope's stocking this year
Toddlers
I love this age for language opportunities. Figures for open ended play, art supplies and other fun can all be included!
- Animal figurines
- Bubble Motion Timers
- Paint Sticks
- Plan Toys Mini Games: Cactus* | Memory | Pick Up Sticks
- Ark Chew Necklace*
*In Teddy's stocking this year
Preschool
I think this is a great age for games and small fine motor activties in stockings. There are so many great options for preschoolers.
*In Gus' stocking this year
Elementary
I think by this age ideas are so personal to interests that it is hard to share general idea lists. But I like to consider art materials, fidget type toys, and small craft projects. Basically, things that they are going to use up and then be willing to part with!
- Fancy Markers: Felt Tipped Markers/Pens* | Mini Scented Highlighers
- Plus Plus Maker Tubes
- Lego Dots: Decorating Patches | Keychains | Bracelets
- Travel Spirograph
- Thinking Puddy
*In Nora and Henry's stockings this year
This list is by no means comprehensive and there is so much more that could be added. Personally, we always do a mix of practical items and fun little gifts in each stocking. I hope this list sparks some creative, fun and interactive ideas for your children's stockings.
