I'm so excited to finally introduce this project to the world - say hello to Joyful Seasons: Montessori Parenting, Everyday Inspiration, and Thoughtful Ideas to Nurture Every Season! For years, I have wanted to create a publication that felt more inline with my everyday parenting experience. I wanted glimpses into what other Montessori parents were doing, lessons on what they have learned, and inspiration from their homes.
Blogs are wonderful, but they are scattered in a million different places. Pinterest is overwhelming, and other social media is too surface level. Nothing quite fit what I was looking for. I longed for the days of sitting on the couch browsing a magazine - something beautiful and quick, but also informative and impactful.
Dreaming up a Montessori Parenting Magazine
While this has been a dream in my head for awhile, I finally made it a reality over the last couple of months. I reached out to some of my favorite Montessori content creators to contribute ideas, articles, and recipes. I hired a graphic designer friend to help me make it look pretty, and spent countless hours pulling it all together. And I AM SO EXCITED to finally to get it into your hands.
This winter-themed issue is nearly 100 pages long and filled with seasonal articles, recipes, crafts and more for the season. For me, it was also important to include a Montessori friendly gift guide for the upcoming winter holidays with toys and materials you can actually feel good about showing to your children. These gift guides include everyone from babies, to teens and adults. The magazine is designed to be read on computers/phones/tablets with easy to flip pages, beautiful images, and easy to read interface.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few of the questions, I've been getting about Joyful Seasons!
So Why Digital?
This is not a publication that will show up in your mailbox (yet!) for a few reasons. One, I wanted this to be accessible to anyone in the world. Through the Issuu system, you can easily buy Joyful Seasons and keep it forever in your account no matter where you are in the world. Two, printing/shipping is significantly more expensive and I wanted to create a product that was super nice quality but also didn't cost a ton of money. By offering a digital offering, I can keep costs down for you. Three, by making this digital, it includes clickable links to discover new Montessori voices to follow and to easily purchase gifts that fit your family's needs.
I'm open to a paper version in the future, but first let's try this!
Is it Religious?
No, it is not. This issue is focused on the upcoming winter season so it does include mentions of winter holidays. But, it is not specifically religious and focuses more broadly on the winter season.
Is this for Children?
This publication is written by adults, for adults. In this particular issue there are extensive gift guides for baby through adult that you might want to show your child. But, nothing about this is specifically geared for children to read.
Can We Download?
At this point, it cannot be downloaded. This prevents people from buying one copy then distributing to larger school/friend/family communities. If you have purchased a copy but would like a download because of an accessibility issue, please reach out to me via email and we can chat. If you are a school owner/guide and would like a copy in your school for parents, please reach out and we can discuss options.
Purchase your copy of Joyful Seasons today, share this information with friends, and let me know if you would like to see further editions of this Montessori parenting publication!
