I can't believe another year has passed and we are back to Montessori Christmas gift lists again! I just love putting these lists together and really using my observation skills to figure out what is the best gifts for each of my children. If you see your children in these lists, please use them as inspiration and share with family and friends!
Just a reminder, this list only includes my children that are 12 and under. If you are looking for an adolescent list, you can find one in my Winter issue of my new magazine Joyful Seasons.

Real Life Montessori Christmas Lists
These are there entire lists but that does not mean that I will be buying all of this. Some of the actual purchasing decisions will depend on what I find on sale, what is in stock, and what family members decide to buy. Those decisions are all made in the coming weeks.
With that said, here's a look at our family's Christmas lists for 2024 from youngest to oldest!
Gifts for Toddlers (Penelope)
Penelope is nearly 3-years-old this Christmas and I can't believe it! She is solidly a toddler that loves pretend play, figuring out how things work, and art. As the youngest of 5, she is definitely a little tough to gift for because we already have so many amazing Montessori friendly materials and her birthday is so close to Christmas. Here are the things that are making her list this year:
Playmobil 123 House (vintage/thrifted - current sets)
Stocking
Gifts for Preschoolers (Ted)
Ted is 5-years-old and is in his second year of Montessori preschool. His love of vehicles has mostly passed and now he's into Star Wars, puzzles, and building. Again, he really works with a delightful mix of open ended materials and more structured work each day. Here's what is making Ted's Montessori friendly (mostly) list this year:
Stocking
*Earlier introduction of fantasy than might be considered Montessori friendly, but in full transparency we do have and he enjoys some character figures and vehicles
Gifts for Lower Elementary (Gus)
Gus will be newly 8-years-old at Christmas. He is another challenging one because he has a birthday just a month before Christmas so I need to make a list for both. He loves tinkering, building, Harry Potter, and all things cozy. Here's a look at Gus's list for this year:
Air Toobz (and expansion pack)
Stocking
Gifts for Upper Elementary (Nora)
Nora is 10-years-old this year. While she still loves to play, she is a social being and loves to be with her peers. She likes to draw, create, and loves animals. But, she is more pre-teen-ish every day and it's been fun to see some new interests - like photography - emerging. Here's what's on Nora's list this year:
Stocking
I hope this provided some Montessori gift inspiration as you are putting together your own lists this year. Have any favorites that are making your lists?!
