As children move on from their toddler years, a great shift starts to occur within children. They start to become more intensely interested in things, move from concrete to abstract thinking, and continue their exploration of the world around them.
"So, from the age of three till six, being able to now to tackle his environment deliberately and consciously, he begins a period of real constructiveness." Maria Montessori
It's during this time that Montessori is most commonly thought of by the public. This is the age of the "Children's House." This is when they begin to refine their skills and deepen their academic knowledge. It's a time of great discovery and joy.
